Who We Are
Jim Boles
Raised in East Texas, Jim Boles originally located to Round Rock in 1973 when his employer, Texas Power & Light, named him to serve as Regional Director of Williamson County. He held that position for six years when he was promoted and asked to lead TP&L’s development and expansion of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). During his six years in Williamson County Jim had developed roots and friendships and had no intention of leaving the place where he knew he wanted to live and raise his family. In 1979 Jim left TP&L and became the commercial broker for the Tom Nelson Family.
In his four years with the Nelson Family Jim saw the necessity for a broker that understood the needs and demands of the development community. Buyers and Sellers needed a broker that was able to work with municipalities to accomplish everyone’s goals. In 1983 Jim started Summit Commercial Industrial Properties, Inc.
From the beginning Jim based his company on integrity and professionalism. Today’s buyers will be tomorrow’s seller and how you treat the parties involved will be remembered. He has been involved in Williamson County’s development for more than 30 years, including chairing Round Rock’s Economic Development Committee on five separate occasions. He has personally located several major employers to Williamson County, including two Fortune 500 companies, Toppan Photomasks and Farmers Insurance.
He was a founding board member and past chairman of the Greater Williamson County YMCA and helps lead its growth and expansion today. Jim, along with others, is credited with initiating the drive that brought the first hospital to Round Rock. During the 1990’s Jim chaired the Round Rock Transportation Committee that acquired the funds for the roads that fuel Round Rock’s growth today.
He is a founding member and Vice-chair of the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation, a foundation dedicated to philanthropy in Williamson County. In 2001, Jim was honored to be named Round Rock’s Citizen of the Year. Jim is married to Monti Boles and has four children, Denny, Russ, Michelle and Ryan.
Russ Boles
Jim’s son, Russ Boles, joined Summit in 1999. Having spent the majority of his life in and around real estate, brokering was a natural profession for him. Russ grew up in Round Rock and knows well the growth that has occurred in Williamson and Travis Counties. He has served on the Round Rock Planning & Zoning Commission, the Round Rock Public Housing Board and is currently an appointee to the Capital Area Council of Governments (CACOG), Co-Chairman of the Future Fund Giving Circle and Board Member of the Round Rock YMCA.
Russ is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of Texas and practices in the area of commercial real estate. In addition to reviewing purchase contracts, he facilitates zoning and entitlement issues for his clients. Russ is married to Kathy Boles and has two children, Meg and Reese.
